The Bristol Plein Air Painters invite submissions for their inaugural exhibition, Landscapes and Gardens, held at Willway Yard, Bedminster, as part of Blooming Bedminster and the Bedminster Garden Festival.
Founded by Helena Traill, the group brings together a growing community of artists working from direct observation across Bristol and beyond.
Artists may submit up to three artworks for consideration.
- If you have previously painted with the group, you are guaranteed inclusion of one artwork (subject to meeting the criteria).
- If your work is selected, you will be asked to donate £15 fee per artwork to support exhibition costs.

Selection announced: Friday 29 May 2026
Submission Criteria
- Work must be created within the last two years
- Maximum size: 100cm (in any dimension)
- Work must be painted (oil, acrylic, watercolour, etc.)
- Subject: landscapes, gardens, or nature-based work
- Please try to submit at least one plein air work, if possible
- Abstract work may be considered where relevant
